Japanese raccoon dogs are called “Tanuki” and have a special place in everyday mythology over here. You’ll find them in or near temples, some restaurants and certain train stations all over Japan. The little rascal is said to bring good luck, amongst other things, to the people who care for him. This little fellow was captured in Kagurazaka, an area in Tokyo famous for it’s French heritage and cozy old world atmosphere, as well as for being the last area to house many geisha in Tokyo.
