Water Lilies

Posted in Nature by tokyobling on April 26, 2010

It’s Monday morning and for the majority of human beings it means the start of yet another working week. So perhaps something beautiful would be a good way to break into the new week? I took these photos of water lilies at a hothouse in Kakegawa city, Shizuoka prefecture. When I was a kid I used to love these flowers, there’s nothing like sitting in a canoe, soundlessly gliding through a field of water lilies in the evening sun. The collection in Kakagawa city is one of the best in Japan, and if you are into botanical gardens or hothouses, I definitely recommend a visit. Enjoy!

Thanks for the kind comment! When work is stressing me out I often dream back to this wonderful hot house. One day, when I’m rich, I’ll buy my own water lily collection!
