More Sculptures in Marunouchi – 1
Last week I posted a few photos of art exhibited in Tokyo’s Marunouchi Building, and here are a few more. It was a full on art event, complete with music, opera, sculptures and paintings, quite the treat for us overworked Tokyoites! Here’s a couple of other sculptures that I liked. Again, the theme is insects and bodies, something very common in Japanese art and which I have blogged about before, several times. These two sculptures are the works Hisanori Kojima (the insect) and Masahiro Miyata, the stick figures called “Relationship”. Behind that piece on the last photo, you can glimpse part of one of the permanent installations in the Marunouchi Building, right above the ladies! I love wandering around Tokyo and discovering these kind of art events, Tokyo is big enough and crowded enough that it is hard to walk around and not find some sort of event or exhibition going on, often for free! Art for the masses! More photos to come tomorrow. I took these with a 20mm and a 85mm lens.
