Omiya Summer Festival Men

Posted in Japanese Traditions, People, Places by tokyobling on August 3, 2011

Every year on the 1st and 2nd of August the city of Omiya in Saitama prefecture just north of Tokyo hosts a huge summer festival with traditional performances, music, food and entertainment that attracts hundreds of thousands. This year I was one of them and last night I took these pictures of good looking men performing in the Awaodori dance troupes that take part in the festival. More pictures to come, but if you’ve followed this blog for awhile you know just how crazy I am about Awaodori dances! Enjoy!
