Akagi Festival Kids
Just a few photos today I’m afraid, but of two of my favorite subjects, kids and festivals! These two kids spent quite some time banging away at this drum, between gigs. Perhaps they’ll pick it up in earnest when they grow older? And what about the boy on the left’s haircut? I’m betting 10 000 yen that his father gave him that haircut himself! I wish I had gotten a mohikan when I was that age too. The last photo is of two kids trying out their bird whistles, usually sold at festivals to entertain kids. I only ever see or hear them on festival days though, they make a loud, bird chirping sound that’s hard to miss. Their parents must be very disciplined!

The posture of the little boy and girl in the last photo is so proper, even as children the Japanese seem disciplined!
thank u for keeping the photos coming!
Sabrina, thanks a million for the kind comment! Yes, I am always amazed how disciplined and well behaved Japanese kids are. When I point this out to their parents they wrinkle their noses and say “not at all!”. Obviously these parents have never been to Europe…! (^-^) I am sure I wasn’t as well behaved when I was a kid at least. (^-^)
I like that second little guy.
The koi print on the girl’s outfit: WOW.
Oh, and it seems parents are ALWAYS a bit surprised when their children are praised for good behavior. (We get to see them at their most monstrous moments, after all.) 8^)
Yes, that’s a great koi outfit! You’re right, I might feel different if I had kids of my own…! (^-^) Still, these Japanese kids are so well behaved, comparatively!
I love the little guy beating the drum!
The mohawk or the monk? (^-^)
Kids pooost with festival! Great combo! I love the little guy especially how the drum is bigger than him
That mohawk is also cool! And whats more the girl’s outfit ..I want one:D
Yeah, if I was 3 again I would def. go for a mohawk! If I ever have kids… (^-^;)
