More Shibuya Fashion Check – November
A few more of the November edition of the Fashion check! I think the guys win in this round, for once. Ladies fashion seems a little bit more subdued this year, and people seem to be dressing warmer to prepare for a colder winter. Still, I love taking these kinds of photos. The only problem is that it takes a lot of time! Enjoy!

wow what a mix lol!
Haha… just a few of the more interesting ones I got in the hour or so I spent. (^-^;)
It’s like grunge look to well dressed to fancy then back to grunge lol
love it!
whoa.. this clothes is extremely not suited in the Philippines.. LOL.. it’s really hot here, even during the xmas season… Only a few avante garde will actually consider wearing these clothes.. LOL
)
I think that sounds like a good thing! (^-^) Less clothes is usually better!
I’ll share a little secret, I am actually looking forward to your fashion posts. Tokyo fashion always inspires me to be adventurous in what I wear and hairstyle. OH! By the way, I entered a modeling competition here in the Philippines. Here’s my entry photo: http://yanangskiart.wordpress.com/2011/11/16/going-solo-but-not-solo/
I need some “professional feedback” and if you have a spare time vote for me. Hehe! ^_^
You look fantastic! It’s so good to see such cool short hair on a girl from the Philippines! Love the hair, nice posing also. But the top doesn’t do you justice. You need something sharper, something that shows your figure better. And for God’s sake stay away from the platform shoes! You have great shoes is some of the other shots. Also, no need to play with pearls, go for a thin simple silver chain with a very small pendant. You look great in shorts! I see that you are not very tall, but don’t let that be a problem, be happy with being short and girly, there is nothing wrong with that! (^-^)
Thank you so much! I’ll keep these in mind.
Yes, I don’t mind being short, I actually like it—pocket size. hehe!
Tee hee, I like that dude’s hat. It’s interesting, I bet it’s a good conversation piece. For some reason it reminded me of that electronic game simon says.
Haha… that is what I thought first too! I saw him a few times during the evening and just before I was about to leave I saw him standing just next to me talking to a friend of his. Lucky I got a picture, he is just too cute! Did you notice the rabbit ear smart phone cover or the train ring? (^-^)
I did, he’s so cool, like a walking toy store. If I were a little kid I want to be his friend with him in hopes that he would let me play with his super cool toys.
I bet he’s got an amazing toy collection! (^-^)
great photos! It’s amazing how you don’t just have the picture of the fashions, but you shot it just where the people are in picture perfect poses! Everyone’s so very fashionable!- it’s amazing just the common folk look like people you’d see in a fashion show! The guys hat with half balls stuck to it sure is a crazy one- It’s cool there, but I don’t know what people would think if I wore something like that around here!
Thanks Karen! That is just the thing, in Japan it is perfectly all right to dress any way you want without you having to take any negative comments or crap for it. I think Japan is the most liberal country on Earth when it comes to fashion. The boy with the hat wouldn’t make it 5 minutes in any European capital, but I am happy that he is free to look the way he wants to here in Tokyo. And I never even take pictures of the most different fashion styles I see. I don’t want to do strengthen the stereotypes of Japanese “weird fashion”. There’s much sexier dressing, stranger fashion, unique fashion going on here that has to be seen in real life to be believed. There is also an inbuilt “exceptionality factor” when taking photos of people in the street. Just by being in a photo they are scrutinized and singled out, making them stand out and look much more unnatural than in real life. So there is a limit to the kind of street fashion you can shoot like this, and I go with my instincts in deciding which fashion would look as good on photo as in real life. Which in reality is not very many!
That first couple! So fine!
And there’s something about the stride of the woman in the next to last photo. I like the boots.
They are cuties, aren’t they? (^-^) Yes, the boots are great, I have other photos were you get a better view of them, but I liked the composition in this photo better.
Yes, that imperial stride, the nonchalance of her hands…her distracted gaze…make this interesting.
And the boots.
(At my age, with my absurdly large feet, sturdy flat shoes are the only way to go. My new winter boots were bought in the men’s department.)
Haha… don’t be too hard on yourself! There’s also a certain look and grace we can pull of that these youngsters can’t! I think it involves a bit more tweed and a pair of Wellingtons though! (^-^;)
Great pictures. The guy in the second one looks bad-ass.
I hope it didn’t take him too long to look so nonchalant?
Thanks! I wouldn’t know, but I guess the point is to look like you just threw something on in the morning without a second thought? I know that’s how I look anyway… (^-^;)
