Fujiyama Glass – Keita Suzuki

Posted in Stuff by tokyobling on February 17, 2012

I don’t post much stuff recently, maybe because I have been to busy even to window shop recently but here’s a great, simple, can’t-believe-it-hasn’t-been-done-before kind of item, a Mount Fuji beer glass! I found this at the table ware exhibition in Tokyo Dome a couple of weeks ago, and the design is by Keita Suzuki, of course they are all handmade and comes in the typically gorgeous white soft wood boxes that are so famous in Japan. The box alone is worth the price! I think these will become collectors items in the future!

I just adore handcrafted items. I think as a grown up I can appreciate the special touch that an artisan puts into their work. Plus I am a sucker for quality packaging.
Even funnier, is I’ve been feeling a bit too busy for the simple and wonderful things in life. I hope we both get a breather soon.

The simple, life, I wonder if it will ever come to us? I’ve been wrestling with my computer today, one hour spent that I will never get back. I remember back in the days the worst thing that could happen was that the library index card was misplaced! (^-^;)

Amazing! You need to look at things from a different perspective in order to come up with such a simple yet creative product.

I agree. Again, seeing something differently is the key to every success in life! (^-^)

Nice idea with the foam forming the snowy top. Look a wee bit pricey mind you.

We have something similar but done the other way round.

The different colours are for the different times of year.

    Bonus attribute:
    Enhanced stability!

(I’ve got Pilsner glasses I won’t use because they are far too tippy. Especially after a refill.)

Haha… another great one-liner from you madam! You’re on top of my drinking buddy wish list for this year. But you must remember that thing we talked about before, 50 more good years. Promise!
