Tokyo Marathon – Countdown

Posted in Places by tokyobling on February 25, 2012

I passed the Wako department store window today and saw this clock counting down to the start of the Tokyo Marathon. I’m having serious problems deciding where to go and watch the runners. What would be the most scenic spot? Probably right around here, in the center of Ginza. If you’re going to cheer on the runners, let me know where you’ll be going, or where you’d recommend!

It’s going to hard to see over the heads of people in the always massive crowds, ne? maybe an overpass?, or in a building, but your style is always to bring us into the action, ne? So maybe a little rise, near the start, or Harumi bashi has lots of overpass and around there you might be able to have the river or city backdrop, Ginza is probably good or Nihon bashi, but it gets a lot of building shadow at certain times. here’s a loud rock music speed-motion video of the whole course: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-H8nSS7QJxo

Whatever place you choose, I look forward to your pics! Judging from your presentations of dancers and musicians, I think you will do great with runners too.

I love the lights on the pictures, it makes me feel like a storm is coming, or for now, something equally big!

Thank you for the kind comment Timi! It would have been good to see them run past this window actually!
