Calpis Hyuganatsu
This has turned out to be the year of the Hyuganatsu! In case you haven’t heard of that particular citrus fruit you are probably not alone. The Hyuganatsu (日向夏) is a sweetish lemon like, sour fruit from Miyazaki prefecture in southern Japan. It’s a fantastic fruit and my current favorite, and recently we’ve had quite a few hyuganatsu flavored soft drinks and juices available in stores. This one is new limited edition version of the classic Calpis soft drink. I had to try one and of course it was excellent! Don’t miss it if you like the ordinary Calpis! I took this photo in a local Family Mart convenience store.

I’ll look in my japanese market this week end, i only found yuzu juice lately.
. But smell really good.
Haven’t tried it yet, cause it’s so little and expensive
To much work to comment all the ncie photos I saw, but still really good pictures love the last one on a temple.
Cheers
Long time no see! Yuzu is fantastic, but there’s so much around here that I wouldn’t want to pay too much for it. I hear Korean shops also have it! Thank you for the kind comment too! (^-^)/
Hello!
I love your blog and I would like to know if there’s a Tokyobling fanpage on Facebook?
Hi Yulia and thank you sooooo much for your kind comment! There is no fanpage on Facebook, I have never thought about creating one… (^-^;) Tokyobling is only on this blog!
I never heard about that fruit before, I love citrus flavoured products. Especially Yuzu flavoured Ponzu! i lightly pour it on boiled vegies or a salad. it is soooo goooood. I am sure that Hyuganatsu is also flavorsome, would love to try this mystery fruit next time I am in Japan. Thanks for sharing. Love the lens your using for these shots. and dont you love it that it is so neatly packed onto shelves. this was one of the first things I noticed when i went into a conbini.
Hi! I am big on yuzu ponzu too! I think it is my single biggest food expense here in Japan! Hyuganatsu is best fresh, and it is still kinda new so it will be a few years until they get the volumes up to try new things! Yes, Japanese conbini are a joy to shop in. There’s always tons of fun stuff to try out…!
LOVE calpis. I’ll be there at the end of August, hope this is still around. .
Isn’t it great? Have you tried mixing your own from concentrate? Shout if you see a guy in a suit with a huge green camera bag!
