Jinbei Boy – Dinosaur Print
You know it’s summer in Japan when the guys wearing the jinbei starts showing up. The other night I had a long discussion at a bar with a Japanese couple on where and when it is sociably acceptable to wear a jinbei. A jinbei is a two piece easy lounge version of the yukata which in itself is an even more causal version of the kimono. The discussion, although very informative, sadly never touched on the subject of patterns. I think a dinosaur patterned jinbei would be socially acceptable just about anywhere. This little boy at a festival last year really pulled it off!

Oh bless! He is so cute — the outfit definitely works
Too cute for words… (^-^;) Thanks for the comment Cherie!
The better to show off his chubby ankles! Oh, I do love little ones and their baby chub.
Haha… the mother in you is strong pk! (^-^)
TOOOO CUTE!!! I will definitely acquire an arsenal of them if I should ever bear a baby boy… they look super comfy and simple besides. (By the bye, I am back to commenting after a long time away!) O_O;;;
Welcome back Juurie! And may the little ones be on their way in the near future! (^-^)
Ahhh he is so cute!!!
I love so much chubby babies… and I’m in love with their chubby little hands and feet , just as dolls!
Thanks Lilichan! (^-^) I love that too!
One day if I have babies they are all wearing jinbei and yukatas!! So cute! Plus jinbei are really comfy!
I totally agree! I have a Jinbei too, but I only dare to wear it at home… (^-^;)
Oh my, he is just too perfect and cute (truly he’d look adorable in anything, don’t you think?). When I see tiny folks, it makes me want one. But then I snap out of it thinking of diapers and such. Gosh, and you know within a year they grow so quickly, he’s a different little person by now.
I agree with you… the realist in me is why I am still happy to be watching kids from a distance rather than having my own… (^-^;)
I think kids are a wonderful but substantial responsibility. I’m afraid of breaking them.
amazing photo <3
Thank you Naya!
