Tokyo Design Week

Posted in Places by tokyobling on November 1, 2012

If you are in Tokyo and have some free time before November 5th, 1800, how about visiting the Tokyo Design Week event? Held mainly in Tokyo’s grand Meiji-Jingu Gaien, the 7 day long event features art, design, design students and seminars attracting visitors and exhibitors from all over the world. As usual, the most solid performance from the foreign visitors came from the South Koreans who continue to excel in industrial design, but there were quite a few fantastic designers from up and coming countries like Thailand! TDW is a great mix of high and low, stuff and ideas, physical things and virtual landscapes. The theme of this year was “House”, so this year’s event should be even more attractive to architects. For more information, check out the event web site at www.tdwa.com/en/. Here’s a few photos from around the main event ground, I will post more finds and photos in the coming month, so stay tuned!
