Chichibuyo Matsuri – Festival Kids
Here’s a few photos of kids that I saw at the fantastic Chichibu Night Festival in western Saitama prefecture north of Tokyo, December last year. I think the first photo would do nicely in my “handsome fathers with their kids” ongoing photos project! Maybe I should create a tag for those photos? I also loved how the two cool little men climbed the high wall – sometimes Japanese parents are refreshingly liberal with their kids, not to mention the little girl who took her father’s fan and started to direct the festival float from her spot high up! She was just too adorable not to share with the world! The future of Japan is looking bright! Read more posts about the Chichibu Night festival here!

Awww….what a sweet way to start the week.

So would the next-to-last one. The answer to the question is YES.
Thank you PK! (^-^;)
I love your photos! They make me want to take a fourth trip to Japan.
Thank you Patricia! Fourth! You must have already been bitten by the Japan bug! Welcome back soon! (^-^)/
Thank you for the beautiful post!
Thank you, Amy, for the kind comment! (^-^)/
Aww I love that final picture, they look so cheeky! Lol
They sure do, on top of the world, probably very cool! After these two little cheeky monkeys a whole host of them clambered up on the wall and the mothers in the next door parking lot finally gave up and ordered them all down… (^-^)
Great shots and thanks for sharing. Looks like a very fun day.
Thanks Todor! It was! The next time you visit Japan, remember that Chichibu has great festival in summer and in winter!
I see several kids in your pictures who have those shoes with big toe apart… is that comfortable? I don’t think I could wear those. I tried the socks and it brings me a certain discomfort…
I don’t know, I think they are as comfortable as normal shoes, and you get much better traction when climbing around, so maybe it works even better for the kids!
hehe probably!
