Aoyama Ao Building

This is the strangely shaped Ao Building in Tokyo’s Aoyama district. I have blogged about this building before, but in the daytime. It looks equally stunning at night. A must visit for fans of modern architecture visiting Tokyo, and you also get pretty nice views from the garden on the backside, but I’m not sure you are allowed to take photos there!

Aoyama Slender Building

I’m not a big fan of most modern architecture, but there are few cities in the world where it fits better than in Tokyo! Most of the city was fire bombed to oblivion during the war so there isn’t much tradition to look back to when it comes to putting up new buildings or even whole new neighborhoods. This is one of my favorite, splendidly curved sky scrapers in Aoyama, just between Omotesando and Shibuya in downtown Tokyo. There’s a few good places to eat inside, as well as nice terrace offering some great views (I still haven’t posted this one…). This building is called the Ao Building (AOビル). Enjoy!
