Lucky Luke Revisited

Posted in Animals by tokyobling on January 4, 2011

Kittens, grow quickly. Do you remember Lucky Luke, the rescued kitten I blogged about in November? Well, he’s grown twice as big and twice as ferocious since last I saw him. During the New Year’s Holiday I braved the cold and my cold and had sushi dinner with my friends in whose lucky house Lucky Luke lives. He’s still being pampered, but not pampered enough to be offered a seat at a fancy New Year’s sushi dinner! But he sure looks hungry. Since I last met him he’s also leveled up and is now probably a Level 4 Kitten Warrior, able to go from “awww you poor thing!” to “Aaaaw! My poor hand!” in about 0.2 seconds. Lucky Luke, the tiger strikes again!

Sorry, I never meant to blog about cats, but they’re just so damned charming!

Lucky Luke

Posted in Animals by tokyobling on November 14, 2010

Let me take a break from the usual Tokyobling stuff on here and go all soft and furry on you. This is Luke, or as I call him, Lucky Luke. Luke was just a few days old when his mother abandoned him last month. Being born this late in the year, he and the rest of the litter would have had no chance surviving as stray cats during the short but intensive Tokyo winter. Some public workers found the abandoned kittens and took them into their office where luckily a very nice couple I know happened to be passing and the three kittens were quickly adopted. Taking care of a kitten that is just a few days old is no easy matter though, Luke had to bottle fed several times every day, as well as all the other things new born kittens can’t do for themselves. I wish people would be more careful in how they handle stray cats, not only in Japan but in all countries! Still, Luke was one of the lucky ones, and now he’s probably going to have a long happy life with a very nice family who is already spoiling him!

Yes, I know, does the world really need another blog about kittens? I don’t know about the world, but Tokyobling does! As a side note, shooting kittens is really much more difficult than puppies. Kittens rarely sit still and are not as interested in human eyes and activities as dogs are!
