Only the Japanese could come up with a fantastic, breathtakingly weird idea like this: make a Pepsi drink of the Shiso, or Perilla, as most western readers know it. Shiso is mostly used in Sushi and Sashimi dishes in Japan (see photo of my latest sushi dinner), but it works surprisingly well as a soft drink. You have to try this one! Why is Pepsi Cola in Japan so much cooler than in the rest of the world? I still mourn the passing of my all time favorite Pepsi Cucumber! Enjoy!
