Toysaurus – Hiroshi Fuji

Posted in Places, Stuff, Uncategorized by tokyobling on March 29, 2010

What do you get when you combine Jurassic Park with Toy Story? The Toysaurus, of course! Created by Kagoshima artist and designer Hiroshi Fuji (藤浩志) it is currently on display in Tokyo’s Roppongi district. Apparently the artist spent years collecting toys and building dinosaurs out of them. The Japanese really have a thing for being patient in the name of art!

    it’s so well placed!

being displayed among the stark gray city walls gives it so much vibrance! clever clever. 🙂

It is! On a great big empty lot in the middle of one of the densest urban areas on Earth. On my photos you can’t see the big great metal fence keeping us art lovers out though. It would have been even cooler if it was accessible from the street. (^-^;)

Hi Rev! Sorry, I haven’t been past that lot in a few weeks, so I don’t know if it is gone already. I wouldn’t think it has stayed out in the rain all these weeks, so you’d better not get your hopes up. Sorry I can’t be of more assistance to you! (>.<)
