Tanabata Festival – Zojoji

Posted in Japanese Traditions, Places by tokyobling on July 14, 2011

The second of this year’s Tanabata festival I attended was at Zojoji temple, just in the shadow of the famous but soon to be superseded Tokyo Tower. I’ll post more on this festival tomorrow, but for now, please enjoy these photos!

Hi! I should have explained! They are paper lanterns that kids could decorate and place by themselves. I guess the kids who drew these were very young indeed. You can see some of their signatures up on top of the lanterns, in black! (^-^)
