Okinawa Skies
Being a mainly inland person myself, having grown up far from the ocean or any major bodies of water I find islands fascinating, the weather, the ocean, the winds, everything is just so different. Japan has its own little paradise in the southern island chain of Okinawa, where I took these photos early this year. I hope I can visit again next year! I don’t remember the spot where I took these, but not far from Onna in central Okinawa, on the main island.
Sunset’s on a clear summer afternoon must be amazing! what a place to sit down and reflect at 🙂

Just for a year or so I’d like to live there so I could experience just that!

Love Okinawa I have a lot of friends that were stationed there. Only been there for a layover.

Lovely place, but very different from mainland Japan, as you must have noticed! (^-^)

We visited Okinawa when we lived in Japan and I loved it, so different from the rest of Japan, the people, the climate, wonderful place to visit and I highly recommend it, although NOT during typhoon season as we did!

Haha… I can imagine! I had friends there during a particularly busy typhoon season a few years ago. They spent a lot of time indoors that summer! (^-^;)

My…! what strange sensation. The horizon, in the second picture, made me feel goosebumps.

There’s nothing like the scent of a fresh sea breeze. I still, randomly, find myself thinking about the ocean.
When I was a girl, I lived near the ocean (well, Long Island Sound) and could walk or ride a bike down to the beach.
While the Great Lakes are very much like freshwater seas (waves, gulls, ships) I don’t live so near them (have to drive a bit to get there) and there is nothing–nothing!–magic about the breeze.

Lucky you! Sounds are generally interesting. I think I could make a living as a beachcomber in one of these places some day… Those Great Lakes are more like oceans though. Where I come from we can generally see across the other side of the lake. (^-^;)

Thank you! It’s a magic place. But you’ll need a car or be ok with hitchhiking… (^-^;)
