Ginza Streets
Nothing blingy today, I just loved the orangey light over these streets of Ginza so I had to take some photos and share with you. Technically the first few photos are of buildings to the south east of Tokyo station, Yaesu. Recently there’s been quite a lot of new construction in the area but there’s a few older building still around to show us what Ginza used to look like as it was rebuilt after the war. One of my favorite areas of Tokyo!

Haha… well, Tokyo is special. It’s a little more stagnant outside of the big cities, but isn’t that true for every country apart from the BRICS?

I always feel like buildings have personalities. And older buildings have such character, you know the old saying, “if these walls could talk, oh the stories they’d tell.” I bet there are a lot of “guilty folks who are glad that they don’t. Now I’m just thinking about the stories they must tell, I do think they are trying to speak to us in their own way.

I think there’s even a genre called Architectural Stories or something, the history of certain buildings, explaining the macro through the micro? I love history that focuses on tiny details rather than grand sweeping movements!
