Okinawa Wedding Photographers
On my last trip to Okinawa I visited the relatively new Chura-Sun beach (美らSUNビーチ) right to the south of Naha Airport and saw this group of wedding photographers doing their best to capture a young couple in the classic “groom getting blown away”. If you have ever been to a wedding in Okinawa, you know this pose! I was there in the winter and the beach was quite deserted, not least due to the cold winds. Even Okinawa gets chilly in the winter. I always thought of Okinawa as Japan’s own paradise. It is quite expensive to go there from the mainland but I am sure the locals are happy to keep it that way. I wouldn’t mind spending a few months there in spring or summer!
Beautiful pictures! That must have been fun to watch the wedding photos being taken.

Thanks! It is always fun to see professional photographers in action, and the happy (and nervous) couples! (^-^)

I thought of Japan but actually I think I might go with the English country side. I like how the English have a formal wedding breakfast which really appealed to me. Though I always keep Japan in the back of my mind if England doesn’t work out.

I don’t think I have ever heard of someone picking a country for their wedding based on breakfast! Well done! (^-^)

Have been working as a wedding photographer here in Okinawa for a few years, it is a great way to make a living, and being one of the few bilingual full time photographers, each day throws something a little different at me…thanks for putting a little spotlight on what we do down here.

Thank you! I shoot what I see and I (hardly ever) crop photos afterwards. I did cheat a little though, as I think this is shot with a cheap plastic zoom lens! (^-^;) Normally I only use prime lenses…
