Television Filming – Miyazaki

Posted in People, Places by tokyobling on December 18, 2012

Visiting the beautiful Aoshima in Japan’s subtropic Miyazaki prefecture a couple of months ago I came across a TV shoot with these two colorful figures battling it out on the beach! I assume the one in green is the hero and the red on is the villain. A few minutes later I saw them as they hurried of together towards the rest rooms, still in character! It was a blazing hot day and I can only imagine how hot it must have been in those costumes! I am not sure what drama it was that was being filmed, if anyone knows please let us know in the comments! – I found it! 天尊降臨ヒムカイザー, Himakaiza!

From the number of staff and equipment (or lack of, such as reflectors and lighting), this looks like a cheap production. The costumes also sort of give that away. 🙂

Haha… I think the costumes are swell! But I have asked friends in the business and they say it is a typical made for local TV production… (^-^;)

I’m guessing they’re making a yet-to-be-released show, another Japanese live-action superhero TV series. I’ll bet the green guy turns into a tiger when he gets his super powers on, while the red guy turns into a bear or wolverine.

(I know, I’ve seen far too many of these shows, thanks to my kids who were Power Rangers fans, then later discovered Ultraman and Kamen Riders. And yes, I watched them too. [blushes])
