Tokyo From The Bunkyo Ward Office
Tokyo is a city best experienced at street level for sure, but sometimes it is good to get up and get the big picture. A while ago I visited the public viewing platform at the Bunkyo Ward Office in Tokyo’s Bunkyo Ward (naturally), just next to the Korakuen Station (but also accessible from the Suidobashi JR train station or the Kasuga Subway station). The viewing platform is basically a gift from Bunkyo Ward to its citizens but you don’t have to be a resident to use it and it is totally free of charge. It is 105m above ground and quite interesting with a 330 degree panoramic view of Tokyo.
If you are into tall buildings, here’s a list of links to some other places you might want to check out!
Free to enter:
Tokyo City Hall (day time here, night time here)

Pay to enter:

Thank you remszi! With a good lens it is surprising how much details you can get. (^-^) Curtains are still important.

Thanks for compiling that list! I’ve been to the one in Asakusa but it’s good to know there are others. Nice photos, too. What time of day/night were those taken?
