Asakusa From Above
Easily the most visited spot in Japan, the famous Asakusa district with the Kaminarimon gate and the long road up to the Sensoji temple is now easily viewed from above thanks to the new tourism center just opposite of the Kaminarimon. There’s an 8th floor cafe with reasonable prices and good service where you can enjoy the same views as I did last month. I took these photos right at sundown, but I got some shots of the daytime Asakusa as well, which I will post later. Enjoy!
Hey! Cool view! Another reason to head over there again 🙂 Great shots of the sky and the temples!

Thanks! I took one look at the dashboard when I started this blog a few years ago and I guess I really never noticed they kept adding features in there! Now I added a few, so far just the ones where I see people actually coming from (so far no incoming links from LinkedIn, so I will skip that button for now). WordPress, easily the best blogging tool in the world just got a little better for me!

Great street shot in image 2928, was this also using the Nikon 135mm DC F2.0?

Thanks Kerioke! I think you might be right, this looks like the 135mm…!

Wow, this looks very different from above. From above you realize that the modern city surrounds this part of Tokyo–a feeling you don’t necessarily get when in Asakusa. Thanks for sharing this perspective.
